What Writesonic sells now

Writesonic's pricing page leads with "Find which prompts recommend your competitors instead of you." Every self-serve plan tracks your brand in ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, runs site audits and monitors ads. Writing is one feature inside that. (Writesonic pricing, writesonic.com, as of October 2026)

  • Starter: $79 a month billed yearly, 1 user, 15 AI articles a month, 1 brand voice.
  • Basic: $199 a month billed yearly, 2 users, 25 AI articles a month, 5 brand voices.
  • Growth: $399 a month billed yearly, 3 users, 50 AI articles a month, 10 brand voices.

That's a good deal if you want the tracking. If you only use the articles, Starter works out to about $5.27 per article over a year, which is why people go looking for something else.

1. Draftly: small-business and team blogs written in your brand voice

Solopreneur is $29 a month for about 66 posts a month, with 2 team members. Posts publish in one click to WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Ghost, Squarespace or HubSpot, and your first post is free.

Pick it if: You want regular SEO blog posts that sound like your business, published to your CMS, without per-seat pricing.

Skip it if: You need AI visibility tracking, posts in languages other than English, or you're outside the US. Draftly writes blog posts only.

Draftly reads your website, sets your brand voice from it and picks topics from your industry's news. Every post is checked against your SEO copywriting rules and for AI-sounding writing before you see it. Growth adds room for 5 team members at $69 a month with no per-seat charge.

Draftly's setup screen with harborandpineplumbing.com entered, beside an example draft Claude Sonnet 5.5 wrote for that made-up plumber: How Often to Flush a Water Heater: A Homeowner's Guide, 1,118 words, SEO score 60/100, Draft status and the opening of the article
A URL in, a 1,118-word draft with SEO meta out. The example plumber is made up.

2. Koala: high-volume SEO and affiliate articles

Koala prices by the word. Starter is $25 a month for 45,000 words. Every plan publishes to WordPress, Shopify, Webflow and Ghost, and new accounts get 5,000 words free. (Koala pricing, as of October 2026)

Pick it if: You publish a lot of articles, especially affiliate content, and want bulk writing with live Amazon data.

Skip it if: You'd rather count posts than words. Koala's word counts assume GPT-6 Luna, and Claude Sonnet 5 and Opus 5.5 count words at 2x and 3x.

3. SEOWriting.ai: the lowest price per article

Starter is $19 a month, or $14 billed yearly, for up to 50 articles. Every plan, including the free one, publishes to WordPress and Shopify. (SEOWriting.ai pricing, as of October 2026)

Pick it if: Price per article matters most and you publish to WordPress or Shopify.

Skip it if: You publish to Webflow, Ghost, Squarespace or HubSpot. Its pricing page lists only WordPress and Shopify.

4. Jasper: marketing teams writing ads, emails and social posts as well as blogs

Jasper Pro is $69 per seat a month, or $59 billed yearly, with 2 brand voices. Its integrations page lists a Webflow app and no WordPress publishing. (Jasper pricing, Jasper integrations, as of October 2026)

Pick it if: Your team writes for many channels and needs brand voices, agents and admin controls in one place.

Skip it if: You mainly need blog posts on WordPress. Per-seat pricing also adds up fast for a team.

5. Copy.ai: sales and marketing teams automating go-to-market work

The Chat plan is $29 a month for 5 seats with unlimited words, using OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini models. The workflow plans start at $1,000 a month, billed yearly, and no CMS publishing is listed. (Copy.ai pricing, as of October 2026)

Pick it if: You want AI chat with OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini models for a team of five, or workflows for prospecting and CRM work on the bigger plans.

Skip it if: You want finished blog posts published for you. Its workflow plans start at $1,000 a month, billed yearly.

Cost per post, Writesonic vs Draftly

Writesonic Starter costs $948 a year for 180 articles, about $5.27 each. Draftly Solopreneur costs $29 a month for about 66 posts a month, about 44 cents each, billed monthly.

That comparison flatters Draftly, because Writesonic's price also pays for visibility tracking, site audits and ads monitoring. Count only what you'd use.

When Writesonic is still the right pick

Stay if you want to know which prompts in ChatGPT, Gemini or Google AI Overviews mention your competitors and not you, and you want one tool that audits the site and drafts the fixes. None of the writing tools above tracks that.

Draftly's free AI visibility checkercovers a narrower question: whether AI crawlers can read your site at all. It's a good first check before you pay anyone for tracking.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Writesonic alternative?

It depends on what you used Writesonic for. For SEO blog posts in your brand voice, published to your CMS, Draftly. For bulk articles at the lowest price, Koala or SEOWriting.ai. For ads, emails and social posts across a marketing team, Jasper.

Is there a free Writesonic alternative?

Draftly writes your first full blog post free with no credit card. SEOWriting.ai gives 3 free articles and Koala gives 5,000 free words. None of them is free for ongoing use.

How much does Writesonic cost?

As listed on writesonic.com in October 2026, Starter is $79 a month billed yearly ($948 a year), Basic $199 and Growth $399. The page lists self-serve plans from $99 a month and a free trial with no credit card.

Does Writesonic still write blog posts?

Yes. Its plans include 15, 25 or 50 AI articles a month and publish to WordPress. The plans are built around tracking how ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews mention your brand.

Does Draftly track AI search visibility like Writesonic?

No. Draftly writes and publishes blog posts. Its free AI visibility checker tells you whether AI crawlers can read your site, but it doesn't track whether ChatGPT or Gemini mention you. If you need that tracking, Writesonic does it.

Is Writesonic worth it for a small business?

If you need AI visibility tracking and site audits, it can be. If you mostly need blog posts, Starter works out to about $5.27 per article, while Draftly's $29 plan covers about 66 posts a month.
